What is animal abuse/neglect?

Yes obviously the majority of us know what animal abuse and neglect looks like BUT the biggest part of animal abuse/neglect is neglecting to take action to stop it.
I am not saying that everyone needs to be an activist with signs outside city hall re: dog fighting or battery cages I am saying that when you see a dog chained up all day every day call animal control. When you see an animal being choked, hit or starved say something, do something, call someone. Do not just sit idly by and let the abuse continue because if you do you are no better then the abuser yourself.
Animals have only one voice, yours. Use it.

Cancel Jay Leno

There are rumors going around that Leno's show is being canceled. I for one hope it's true. The only bad thing is the other half of the rumor has him going back to the tonight show. This man does not deserve a show period. He supports Michael Vick. Dont know what I am talking about? Read below:

Jay Leno: “It’s amazing to me that you mistreat a dog and you lose your career and go to jail for two years.”

Chris Rock: “What the hell did Michael Vick do, man? A dog, a pit bull ain’t even a real dog. A pit bull, that’s the white stuff. Dogs are white mans best friend – dogs have never been good to black people.”

Jay Leno is pompous and indignant as it is but this, this is just out right appalling. I will never watch another program with Leno attached to it. It's sad really I was enjoying being able to watch the Late show again. Truth be told I would like to see Jimmy Fallon in the Late show seat, but that is just because I personally think he is hilarious, Conan not so much.

The maiden blog

Hi all. While I am the rescue director for Kindred Canines dog rescue I am also an animal advocate and over all very opinionated person. My opinions are not always shared by others and that's alright (though those people are obviously wrong) but I have found that I need an outlet for those opinions and thus the care and feeding of rescue dogs was born. This is not a Kindred Canines blog, this is my own personal blog with my own personal feelings regarding what I do, what I see and who I am outside of dog rescue.
